My client a reputable and established chartered institute based in Edinburgh is currently searching for a Data & Governance Manager.
To develop, manage and implement an organisation-wide strategy, including policies and protocols, for the governance of information and data, within the institute, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.
Develop, implement and maintain a Data and Information Strategy
Manage Information Risk Assessment and Information Risk Register
Ensure that all data and information is appropriately catalogued
Provide a policy framework, giving guidance and support to staff in their use and storage of data, including corporate document management systems and Intranet
Provide a policy framework, giving guidance and support to Working Party members in their use of Working Party data
Working in conjunction with colleagues to Provide Policy and guidelines for the following: Data retention/destruction/disposal, Information Security, Competition law, PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance, Data protection / GDPR
Ensure that the institute complies with best practice and statutory requirements for data and information handling
Provide key input to structure and ongoing management of new Intranet solution
Act as the Data Protection Officer
Knowledge and Experience Required
Experience in similar governance roles
Extensive working knowledge of the Data Protection Act, 1998
Clear communication skills
Data Protection Practitioner Qualification (desirable)
